Finding A Job Is Tough

Finding a real career job here is tough or so I have found. I can find plenty of jobs that will do for just getting by, but nothing that allows me to profit in the long run. Something is messed up with that!

Although it still seems pretty new, I'd go ahead and post my resume on jobcube and see what kind of hits you get. Never hurts to have it spread around in a few places.

With thousand of people looking for jobs to get by, the competition's quite high. You really have to work on your qualifications first so as to impress your prospective employer and get the job you've always been dreaming of. Don't settle for less if you know you have the qualifications.

I tihnk as the years pass we will probably have to invest time into creating our own careers. Major corporations are going to need less and less people as everything becomes more and more automated.

Yes it is very hard in Japan to find the right career.

To be an english teacher is easy, however, with this market even that is becoming more difficult.
I was quite lucky in finding a nice boss who was willing to help.
The thing with Japan is the Job specs are always way to high for the amount they are willing to pay or you will be say lacking Japanese skills and even if you have Japanese skills you may not fit in in Japanese culture so that leaves you out of Japanese companies so you are looking at maybe only 5% of the businesses in Japan also then you probably have 10,000 more people looking at thoughs jobs too. Hard hey.
I think you really should tweek your CV to every position you are going for and when you get an interview sell yourself as much as you can.

Good Luck.

Terry

It's really though specially if it would be your first time. Just think that God above is always there, with bigger & brighter plans for us.

Many professional jobs are still opened for the desired people, its just putting efforts at right ends. You can see many people from other countries coming into Japan for securing job and my friend is also now in designing field. He is doing good and his earning is also fine.

On seeing terryjago reply, i feel it is so difficult to end up in a job in Japan. But many countries are opening their branches in japan and may be only those employees can be safe i hope so. But i feel like people will become frustrated if this situation continues for the long run.

That is the only answer to this problem of job scarcity. With IT sector booming with business there were lot of job opportunities but with meltdown that has also seen a steep decline.
