Yes there is, but there is a second method, an IME, which is what I use. Basically, the IME when activated automatically turns latin letters into their kana equivalent. When Kana's are grouped together, they can also be changed into kanji easily.

Input method - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

They take a while to master, but I can write them out easily enough. They're editable as well, but I don't reccomend messing with it.

How old were you when you began to learn Japanese Dartz? I know it's easier when you are younger. I don't think I could keep all these characters in my head now, LOL.

Eh, started studying it just a short while ago, I have a natural talent for languages. Nothing compared to my friend though, he mastered the kana overnight and now he translates hentai mangas. XD

Mastering kana overnight?? That's amazing... I don't think learning a regular foreign alphabet overnight would be an easy thing to do.

Would you advice learning some of the spoken language first and then advancing to written?

Well, for someone that isn't a native speaker, I'd focus a good bit on literacy first, then move on to speaking. That's the method I'm using, and I know exactly what I'm saying if it's written out.

I don't show any difference, but it can be totally clubbed and can be used for creating a pattern of sentence. Its not really depends on simple and advance, but formation and usage of words is more important. Even simple language can be useful in dealing Business.
